OVERLAY
Reasons for Using a Coloured Overlay
It has been estimated that at least half of people with SpLD and dyslexic readers have subtle visual problems.
Symptoms can include the following:
- Eye Strain
- Headaches
- Missing out bits of text
- Losing place on the page
- Experiencing blurred or double vision
- Tiring quickly when reading
- Seeing visual perceptual distortions:
- Text appearing to change, move or swim on page
- Bright-coloured text or images ‘flashing’
- Seeing shapes or patterns on page
- White paper ‘glaring’
